Thousands of UK bank customers are reporting issues accessing their mobile apps, with the problems seemingly impacting Lloyds Bank, Halifax and Bank of Scotland. Customers have reported difficulties logging in and accessing banking services, with a surge in outage reports emerging this morning. The cause of the apparent disruption is not yet clear.
Outage tracker Downdetector has recorded a particularly sharp rise in reports relating to Lloyds Bank and Halifax, while reports concerning Royal Bank of Scotland are also beginning to increase. The disruption appears to have emerged around midday following relatively few reports earlier in the day.

Bank of Scotland confirms services restored
Bank of Scotland has confirmed its app and online banking services are now back up and running normally following today's disruption.
The bank said in an update at 12.59pm: "The app and online banking are now back up and running as normal. We’re sorry if you had trouble logging in."
It added: "Thanks for bearing with us."
Lloyds outage reports fall sharply
Reports of problems with Lloyds Bank have fallen sharply following a major spike around midday.
Downdetector shows reports peaked at almost 2,500 before dropping rapidly to just a fraction of that level.
The decline comes as Lloyds Banking Group confirms the issues have been resolved and services are working normally.

Lloyds Banking Group has confirmed the issues affecting its banking services have now been resolved.
A spokesperson confirmed to the Express shortly after 1.10pm that services were back to normal following problems affecting customers earlier today.
The update comes after customers reported difficulties accessing mobile apps and online banking across Lloyds Banking Group brands.
Lloyds app tells customers ‘App launch failed’
Lloyds customers attempting to access the bank's app are being met with an error message saying: “Problem occurred” and “App launch failed”.
The message acknowledges “technical problems” and tells customers that logging in again may fix the issue, or to “try again later”.
Lloyds has confirmed it is aware some customers are having problems with its app and online banking and is working to fix the disruption.

Customer says Lloyds outage means she ‘cannot run business or home finances’
Lloyds Bank customers have voiced their frustration as problems accessing online and mobile banking continue.
Alison wrote on Downdetector: “Cannot log in to either the Lloyds business banking app/website or personal ones. Great, cannot run my business or home finances.”
Another customer, Lesley, said: “I have been trying to login into Lloyds online banking since 10.45am this morning.”
She added: “Just keeps saying something went wrong. Wished they would hurry up and sort it out.”
Bank of Scotland confirms app problems
Bank of Scotland has confirmed some customers are experiencing issues with its app and online banking.
In an update posted on X at 12.30pm, the bank said: “We're aware some customers are having issues with our app and online banking. We're sorry about this and are working hard to fix it.”
It added: “We’ll let you know as soon as it’s back to normal.”
Bank of Scotland is part of Lloyds Banking Group.
Lloyds confirms banking problems
Lloyds Bank has now confirmed some customers are experiencing problems with its app and online banking.
The bank said in an update on X at 12.28pm: “We're aware some customers are having issues with our app and online banking. We're sorry about this and are working hard to fix it.”
It added: “We’ll let you know as soon as it’s back to normal.”
MBNA app confirms customer login issues
MBNA has acknowledged that some customers are experiencing problems logging into its app and online banking.
A message displayed in the app says: “We know some of our customers are having issues logging in to online banking and our app. We're sorry about this and we're working to have everything back to normal as soon as we can.”
MBNA is part of Lloyds Banking Group, which also owns Lloyds Bank and Halifax.

Apps behind majority of banking problems
Downdetector figures show the majority of problems being reported across all three banks relate to their apps.
The latest breakdown shows:
-Lloyds Bank: 66% app, 15% login, 10% online banking
-Halifax: 69% app, 13% login, 10% mobile banking
-Bank of Scotland: 64% app, 15% login, 11% mobile banking
Lloyds and Halifax part of same banking group
Lloyds Bank, Halifax and Bank of Scotland are all seeing a rise in outage reports and are part of the same banking group.
All three are part of Lloyds Banking Group, which also owns MBNA.
It comes as customers report problems accessing mobile banking services today.
Bank of Scotland reports surge
Bank of Scotland is also seeing a sharp spike in outage reports, with Downdetector showing reports climbing from virtually zero to more than 300 around midday.
The bank has confirmed some customers are experiencing issues with its app and online banking and says it is working to fix the problems.
Bank of Scotland is part of Lloyds Banking Group, alongside Lloyds Bank and Halifax, which are also seeing significant spikes in reports.

Halifax outage reports soar
Halifax customers also appear to be experiencing problems, with Downdetector showing a sharp spike in reports this morning.
The outage tracker recorded reports climbing from virtually zero to more than 1,000 at the peak at 11:43am.
It comes as customers of several major UK banks report problems accessing services.
